Bgu301: Well, I decided to sell the 951, and ordered a M300A From Aim – I like the idea of a lighter smaller unit, and if I am already going to be buying a new head, might as well get a smaller, lighter unit. It’s not a great light for weapon light usage for several reasons. 1. It has the circuitry for the two stage switch built into the flashlight itself, not the tail cap. Allegedly SF is coming out with a momentary only 500 lumen mode only “Tactical” model of the Surefire Fury . 2. It’s not made to withstand recoil forces. The batteries contact the circuit board in the head and not a shock absorbing spring. You break it on a rifle SF can tell you to bad so sad and not fix it under warranty if they so choose. They’d probably still fix it but….. BTW LA Police Gear has them listed for a little over $100. I paid $130 for mine at a local gun store. GMCsharker

Missouri: Governor Signs Two NRA-Backed Bills into Law Today
Today, with the deadline for his signature on legislation fast approaching, Governor Jay Nixon (D) stood with gun owners as he signed into law two bills to preserve and expand recognition of Second Amendment rights in Missouri. The improvements made in Senate Bill 480 and NRA-backed House Bill 1647 will take effect on August 28 of this year, while NRA-backed Senate Bill 489 went into effect immediately upon the Governor’s signature. Thank you to Missouri NRA members for making your voices heard in the final days and hours of the 2012 legislative session. Your dedication to contacting your state elected officials helped ensure passage these important NRA-backed bills this session. South Carolina: Governor Signs Essential Pro-Gun Reform Legislation into Law
South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley (R) signed House Bill 4494 into law on June 29, marking an end to South Carolina’s experiment with radical anti-gun policies in the 1970’s. This law, effective upon the Governor’s signature, repeals the prohibition on selling certain handguns that do not meet the arbitrary 800 degree melting-point standard, and the requirement for Federal Firearms License holders to be licensed with the state in order to sell handguns. H 4494 also brings South Carolina into conformity with federal law by allowing the sale of long guns in non-contiguous states to South Carolina residents.

Homeowner dodges hatchet, shoots intruder, The News Tribune, Tacoma, Wash. 06/27/12
A homeowner was upstairs in his Tacoma, Wash. house when he heard a suspicious noise and shouted to see if someone was downstairs. A man replied, identifying himself as a police officer, which lured the homeowner downstairs. Once downstairs, the homeowner was confronted by two home invaders, one of whom immediately threw a hatchet at him. The home invader missed, allowing the homeowner time to retrieve a shotgun and shoot one of the criminals. The burglars fled the scene, but the wounded intruder was captured when he sought medical attention at a local hospital. Criminals of the Pacific Northwest beware; the incident marked the second armed citizen shooting in Tacoma in just over a week.

A grandmother was getting dressed at her home in Sarasota, Fla. when she heard a knock at the door. Unable to answer the door at that moment, the homeowner ignored the knock. A few minutes later an intruder wearing a bandana broke-in through a glass door in the back of the house. Seeing the home invader, the homeowner retrieved a .38-caliber handgun and fired twice at the criminal, causing him to flee. The police were able to locate the burglar after an anonymous tip led them to a nearby hospital where he sought treatment for a gunshot wound to his arm. A recording of the homeowner’s phone call to 911 reveals that she took no pleasure in her actions, as she told a dispatcher, “I’m so sorry. I would never hurt someone, but I was fearful of my life.”

Never see rifle slings mounted like this on the picture threads around here; I figure there is a reason. The front sight base and carry handle are milled and are not forged like alot of them. The reddish purpleish color is from the lacquer stick filler in the lower. I cleaned the CLP off with rubbing alcohol and it wiped right off. The lacquer can be removed with ease if you’d like to with brake clean or lacquer thinner and brush/toothpick as it is not permanent. What you see in the hand guards is skate board tape and can found any sporting goods store or they can be replaced for about $15 or so. Stock is a Mil-spec 4 position collapsible stock, MagPul aluminum trigger guard included and so is a flash hider and a bayo lug. Payment will be via Western Union OR USPS money orders only. The plan for last Saturday was to build two AR15 AR15s. One for my brother & the other for me. I could see it was WAY more important to help my neice build his than to try to do two of them. Homeowner defends friends from attack, WJRT, Flint, Mich. 08/27/12
A group of friends were enjoying a bonfire outside one of their homes in Flint, Mich. when two armed robbers approached them. While the criminals herded the group inside the home and demanded their valuables, the homeowner got away from the main group and was able to retrieve a gun. When one of the robbers put a gun to the head of a victim who was having difficulty finding his wallet, the homeowner fired, striking the criminal and causing his accomplice to flee. The homeowner’s father, who lives next door to his son, said that police were supportive of his son’s actions, explaining, “the cops complemented him quite heavily on protecting his friends and his household and his family and everything else in the matter.” An investigation has led police to suspect that this was only the latest in a string of robberies these criminals were involved in
